As the holiday approaches please help me in giving a gift promoting social-emotional and academic learning of special needs students. These students come from low-income families and are surrounded by various forms of neglect and trauma. This holiday I would like to provide each student with a stem activity kit, a book or two, and a sensory toy. Books like Focused Ninja, Self-Control to the Rescue, will be given as a holiday gift to increase focus and concentration at home. I also plan to include a mindfulness workbook and a national geographic kit, alongside a note to encourage parents/guardians to complete self-regulating exercises.
