I take pride in the healthy environment I create for my students in my classroom. My students consistently express how much they enjoy being in my classroom because of how they feel when they are there. I've used an essential oil diffuser with a mixture of lavender and mint to keep the air smelling fresh. Last year, I purchased a water cooler, which I kept supplied with clean water I would purchase myself. I also kept a supply of paper cups so that students who did not have a water bottle could stay hydrated. Students were allowed to drink as much water as they wanted, as long as they cleaned up after themselves. I would also keep a supply of food in my classroom. I've found that thirsty and hungry teenagers do not make good students. Clean air will help keep my classroom environment welcoming and safe. In addition to the water cooler, the food supplies, and the oil diffuser, a high-quality air purifier will be another key element to my unique and healthy classroom environment.
