I can vividly remember my trips to the school store in grade school. Amassing points throughout the week and dreaming about what cool toy I could purchase each Friday. The 7th grade team at Baychester intends to bring that same joy to our students this school year. Students will earn points during class for tasks such as participation, working silently during independent practice, and using content specific vocabulary. They will then have the chance to spend their points each week in the school store. In addition to adding an element of joy to the classroom, it will begin to teach our scholars about the value of currency, as well as spending weekly vs. saving for a larger item.
