With partner book pairs, my students will read together and help each other improve. The opportunity to work with a peer, rather than just the teacher, will encourage students to read more books. They will have an opportunity to read more non-fiction and share what they learn from the books with each other. The reading buddy foxes and bears, along with the wobble stools, will provide seating options beyond hard backed chairs. My students currently have three options for seating while reading- hard back chairs, hard backed benches and a hard floor. Providing them with soft pillow buddies and wobbly stools will give them more comfortable and exciting reading places. With better options, my students will become more engaged in their independent reading.
