Students have multiple opportunities each week to read independently. This gift will allow all students to feel successful as they read no matter what abilities they possess. Using a Daily 5 and balanced literacy model, I strive to ensure that students participate in various activities that reflect a path to reading. Whether it is through word study, comprehension, letter and sound application or reading with peers, students gain ample practice with reading skills. Not all 5-year-olds enter my class having the ability to read the books they have access to in our classroom. With the Early Reading Comprehension Bundle, we can have help knowing they can leave my class having the skills necessary for a lifelong literacy journey!
