My classroom is full of students with various needs. I want to help them grow as much as possible. One of the ways I plan to do that, is through parent volunteers. These games and activities will help engage my students and parents in the learning process. For my low readers, the CVC game will hopefully jump start their phonemic awareness. I want to give them the motivation they need to push through and retain the knowledge they learn in small groups. The phonics set will also aid in this learning process. The majority of my class struggles with comprehension. This is one of the biggest challenges for second graders. There are only so many worksheets you can do before they completely lose interest. The compression game set will be engaging enough to push them a little farther. I have recently returned to the regular classroom. I have been teaching art for the past couple of years. Therefore, I am a bit short on resources for reading groups. I'm hoping the Splash! games and fluency card bank will enhance my instruction.
