Kids today... are always hungry! I am a Special Education teacher in a Title 1 district, where many families are coping with food insecurity. Our students typically qualify for free or reduced lunch, yet these meals often don't meet the nutritional demands of their growing bodies and minds. On average, I provide snacks to 4-5 students a day, students who need more calories, and trust in me to give them nourishing bites to eat. Students who get enough nutrition are more alert, better focused, and accomplish more in their classes. It's my goal to continue providing tasty snacks to my students, and your donation can help to accomplish this. Typically, I spend around $500 each year on supplementary food for my students. I am careful to choose snacks that are both healthy, and delicious. Feeding and caring for my students gives them a more positive connection to school, and helps them absorb and digest their class content better. Thank you for your support!
