With the help of the student math journals, I will be able to assess and pinpoint the needs and deficiencies in the math skills of my 2,3,4th-grade students. I will be able to assess their skills while they are working in their journals. I will also use other methods of assessment, such as math running records, grade-level tests and hands-on assessments. The flexible seating chairs will be used for students who are working on specific math skills while I am working one-on-one with students. The students will be able to sit in groups of three to practice collaborative skills and cooperative learning.
