For years I've hosted a great group of Eastern video gamers in my classroom, and for years I wished they were able to showcase their talents beyond our club. The club is up to 50 people and we play a variety of games on Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo switch every week. This year DCSAA (official DC High Schools Athletic Association) has approved Esports as official an official sport! -- It's just like football, basketball, or any other sport. The problem: we don't have computers! We have very talented students at Eastern but we just don't have the equipment. One hundred percent of your donation will go toward gaming computers so that students can compete and showcase their talents. We literally cannot compete in Esports without computers. Imagine a talented football team without helmets or amazing high school baseball team without bats. That's where we are at. Esports is the fastest growing high school sport and students can earn full college scholarships playing these games and representing Eastern High School. We have three Eastern High School staff members with experience playing the titles the students will be competing in. They have graciously agreed to volunteer their time coaching the students. We have the students. We have the coaches. We have the talent. With your help, we can bring home the title and send some of these students to college.
