In our classroom for reading, we do not use traditional textbooks. Instead, we do novel studies to allow students to enhance their literary experience, enjoy reading and possibly relate to the books. This book is the first book in the series. Our class will use for whole group lessons, independent reading and partner activities. By donating to our reading series, not only will students enjoy reading, but it will enhance their academic reading skills in ways a textbook will not. One thing special about this novel is the story is about a fictional, fifth grade classroom. The students will find this novel very intriguing as they are in fifth grade as well.
