My students are part of the Chinese Immersion program so I feel that it is very important for them to get some hands on experience with some traditional Chinese activities, especially for Chinese New Year, one of the biggest and most celebrated holiday in China. We are requesting Chinese culture supplies for Chinese New Year activities and other classroom activities. With this grant my students would be able to learn to juggle with Diabolo, write Chinese characters with calligraphy pens, play Chinese checker and dance with Chinese fans (which would be a Chinese New Years performance). With the materials that I've chosen, I really feel that my students would not only be able to have fun, they would be able to see what students in China would be learning and playing with and thereby receive a more complete cultural immersion experience.
