My classroom library is a place that students love to visit. Both selecting books to read independently, and books for us to read as a whole class, brings great excitement to the students that I teach! Students treat the books in the library with love, care and respect.I promote reading regularly in my classroom, and love to see students develop a true love of reading throughout the year. The students I teach come from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and I want to ensure that the books which I provide them fully represent this. These new books would ensure that my students are able to see themselves in the pages of the books they read, and also see their classmates represented too. I want to ensure that my classroom library is as diverse as possible to reflect the diverse world that we live in. These books will be used both during our current distance learning to continue to engage the students in reading, as well as when we return to in-person classes.
