This project will be used to encourage students and families to increase their attendance percentages by setting a goal for students to work towards. Currently, our chronic absenteeism is at 15% school wide and 6.7% severe absenteeism. With this project our school will be able to provide a sense of encouragement for students to increase their attendance. Many times, student are not able to come to school because they either have to take care of their parents for being ill, students interpreting for their parents, and some parents want students to babysit younger siblings for certain occasions. We have students with chronic and severe absences, so we want to be able to provide something for students that would encourage them to come to school more such as snacks or other individual incentives.
