My student are enrolled in a 50:50 German dual language immersion program since first grade. The program was established five years ago and we are still in the process of creating a classroom library with authentic German books, educational board- and card games as well as Grammar books and dictionaries. My 48 students are very motivated, enjoy reading and playing and primarily enjoy learning, communicating and improving their German language skills while learning academic content. They will benefit a lot from having more authentic German material in our classroom available to them and for them to use daily. Some of the items are also going to be used during our science lessons as well as for classroom reward parties, inside recesses and other academic projects. It is very difficult to find German books and educational games in US stores and we really have a very limited amount of material at this time. We will share and treasure the materials and books for many more years and students.
