In first grade the students come with alphabet knowledge and very minimal sight words (words they can read), thus, making reading well loved children's books difficult. The All-In-One CD Player system assists the students as they read along with the story. The headphones allow other literacy groups to learn separately without disruption. This center will be used every day! All students in the class will rotate through this center, each receiving a turn at the "Listening Center.” They will get to choose a story of their own interest, read along with the audio, and grow in their reading ability while developing new interests in different topics and texts through exposure.
