Thanks to the Edna Rose Educational Foundation Board, my classroom (along with all of the other First and Second grade classrooms in my school) is 1-to-1 with iPads. We are reqting aa class set of headphones. Allowing each student to have a pair of headphones would help them to meet their recommended engagement time using the different learning programs our school has to offer. These learning programs include Renaissance Learning, I-Ready, Prodigy, SmartyAnts and BrainPOP. We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world. -- David Warlick All of the programs mentioned are differentiated based on the areas, skills, or concepts a particular student could use some extra practice with. Therefore, these programs are great additions to our daily curriculum. As one can assume, the more time and exposure students are given to explore these programs... the more they will learn! With the funding of this project, my students will be given the opportunity to complete activities, quizzes, lessons and many other things that can be accessed through the programs. All of this can be happening without being an interruption to another learner in the classroom.
