Flexible seating gives my students choice and control over the learning environment. Students will use the chairs in our small reading groups and during our weekly Junior Great Book discussions. Students can use the chairs during a test to help with test anxiety because they are so comfortable and allow the child to feel calm as they complete a test. The Yoga chairs also help students with posture and require some thought as they sit in the chairs throughout the day- nothing like working on your core as you learn the new 3rd grade vocabulary words. Yoga chairs are also fun and anything I can do to make my classroom more fun is a win win for my students.
