Everyone comes to see the nurse when they are sick or injured. Students and teachers have problems throughout the day that range from the simplest paper cut to having to call EMS. As the school nurse, I take care of people all day long! They come to see me with their problems and I try to fix them. Many of the items on my list are first aid related. From cuts and bumps and bruises to bloody noses, I see a lot and go through supplies quickly. Once I treat someone, my emphasis is to try to keep them comfortable so that they will be able to stay in school and "make their day". Each day that they make is another day full of learning that fuels their minds and embraces their education.
