My students are entering a demanding academic year for language arts and testing, and I want to ensure that they are equipped to conquer it with confidence and persistence! We are starting a new curriculum and they will need colored pencils for close reading and annotating in consumable books, and don't need the frustration of trying to sharpen them with cheap or old sharpeners. They will need daily access to earbuds to interact with the online components, and an easy, safe way to store them in my class. Independent reading is the best strategy for improving literacy skills, so current, relative, diverse literature is always needed to hook reluctant readers. Comfy seating will encourage such reading!We never have enough tissues or eyeglass cleaner to keep them focused on the learning, and ink cartridges will help me print their awesome projects, as well as awards and rewards to keep them motivated. Challenging work is made much easier when you have the right environment and tools to succeed! I want my classroom to have the materials to keep learning safe, comfortable, colorful, and FUNctional for all.
