Our younger students often enjoy a fun story and some songs on the floor before checking out books. A new, comfy rug will clearly define where they should sit and allow for a more pleasant experience. Older students can use the cozy space for independent reading and small group activities. Adding a rug in calming colors will brighten the space and encourage students to enjoy reading, aligning with the principles of a Montessori learning environment. Our building is more than 100 years old and reinvigorating the space with lovely colors will really transform our library. Creating a comfortable seating area allows students to focus on learning new things and working together.
