These paints, brushes, and canvases are going to give my Introduction to Visual/Commercial Arts students a well-rounded visual arts experience. This class is the first visual arts course they will be exposed to at the high school level and could be the class that shapes their perspective of visual arts and potentially leading them to pursue a career in the arts. With these painting supplies, my students will have the opportunity to create beautiful self-portrait inspired paintings that will allow them to embrace their identity and lead them through a self-discovery journey while applying their newly acquired knowledge of color theory. Using paint is one of the most hands-on and engaging ways to teach color theory and is also one of the most enjoyable! Each year students look forward to the painting portion of the class and each year I look forward to displaying their masterpieces.
