My students deserve to be fully engaged in the learning process. By supporting my initiative for flexible seating, you will enhance their engagement in the classroom. My students merit the right to learn in a comfortable, safe environment that they might not have otherwise. Research has shown that rigid posture for long periods of time impedes learning, diminishes attention span and concentration, resulting in fatigue, drowsiness, pain, and discomfort. I want to create an atmosphere similar to a coffee shop, warm, inviting, and accessible to all. My students often come from uncomfortable environments and standard desks only add to their discomfort. Help me support my students by giving them an environment they want to learn in.
