Books create a world in which those who experience it learn a wealth of knowledge. Books help us go on adventures, travel to distant worlds, learn to empathize, love, and to learn more about ourselves. Oftentimes, the children in my class do not get the opportunities to see characters and experiences that reflect them and their culture. These books will help create a classroom library that fosters a love of reading. The books will help grant my students opportunities to be seen and see themselves reflected on page. In turn, the new classroom library will help develop a deep connection and love with reading.
