All of my students will benefit from having a classroom rug. The younger students will have a place to sit, sing and play instruments. Since the rug is circular in shape, the younger students can use the rug as a visual guide for circle games and dances. My older students (grade 3-5) will use the rug with its imprinted staff and symbols for note reading activities and for students to have a visual aid to make connections. As a new teacher, I am excited to create a love for making music and having a fun, colorful and engaging classroom music rug will develop a respect for music and enhance learning for years to come.
