Because our first grade classroom has limited space, students must hang backpacks on the back of their chairs. This situation is not ideal, as putting backpacks on chairs (and more often than not, on the floor) creates a cluttered physical learning space for our little ones. It also poses a safety hazard, as students easily trip over backpacks lying on the floor. Having a mobile backpack cart will ensure that students have a designated place to safely hang their backpacks. Rolling the backpack cart outside will allow us to maximize the learning space available inside. In addition, using this backpack cart everyday is an important opportunity for students to practice being responsible for their belongings while respecting the belongings of others. Your donation will create a safe and accessible learning environment as well as help our young learners gain vital organizational skills needed for success in first grade and beyond!
