I am requesting binders, a 3 hole punch, and tab dividers for this project. My students come from a wide variety of Spanish-speaking backgrounds and bring a multitude of strengths to the classroom. To acknowledge the diversity within the Spanish classroom, students and I work to create our own textbooks that meet the exact needs of the student. Regular textbooks take a "one-size-fits-all" approach, but this has not been the most beneficial in my classroom. Instead, students create binders of materials that form their own language book, perfectly tailored to their own skills and interests. These binders travel with them from Spanish classroom to Spanish classroom, serving as their self-created foundation to the Spanish language and culture. Your generosity allows them to have access to the materials necessary to create these personalized, culturally responsive Spanish textbooks that will stay with students throughout their high school experience.
