The materials and supplies that I am requesting will provide my students with what they need for our social emotional art and literacy unit. This 12 week unit will provide students with the opportunity to understand and express their emotions and feelings through reading, writing, and art. The students will create self portraits, models of how they see their world, and discuss stories to help them develop social emotional understanding and empathy. The books requested will provide the students with situations and stories that they can relate to and understand. I am a firm believer of providing students with an artistic outlet to express their emotions.
