One of my goals is to make my students lifelong readers. I want them to continue to explore stories and learn from reading long after they graduate from high school. These are books that either fly off my shelves or that students have asked for time and time again, this year and in the past. I would love for them to know the joy of reading a book they have been eyeing for so long. One of our rituals is to put on the Netflix fireplace and serve hot chocolate while we have a reading day every few weeks. So many students have told me that they didn't know reading could be relaxing. We are on our way to creating lifelong readers, I just need some new books to freshen up my selection so that I can hold my students' interests.
