My students have an amazing sense of curiosity and an excitement that is contagious. They come from an under-privileged community, and many of them have never been in any kind of a classroom setting. Their interest in the world is as inspiring as it is insatiable, and it creates an environment where we learn together. My students dive into each new experience as they learn from each other how to be resilient, brave, and thoughtful. I want each student to be able to apply these traits to their academic learning and use them to build a foundation for the rest of their lives. These students constantly surprise and impress me. I have a little girl that goes home and teaches her toddler brother everything she learned that day. They deserve every opportunity I can give them, and in return they make me laugh everyday.
