My students were so excited when they each received their own coin bank. Many of them had never had a bank of their own before, and they were eager to start saving and counting coins right away.\r\n\r\nWe are using the coin banks during our math lessons to practice identifying coins, counting mixed groups of coins, and learning how different coins can be exchanged for the same value. One of the most meaningful moments was watching students proudly count the coins in their banks and explain their thinking to classmates. Having their own bank has made learning about money feel real and exciting.\r\n\r\nThese new resources are helping my students build confidence with money skills while also learning the value of saving. Next, students will continue using their coin banks to practice adding coin values and setting small savings goals as part of our financial literacy lessons.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made this learning possible, and we are so grateful for your support!","fullyFundedDate":1769178051606,"projectUrl":"project/money-matters-coin-banks-for-real-world/9929387/","projectTitle":"Money Matters: Coin Banks for Real-World Math","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Collins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6156818_orig.png?crop=510,510,x0,y20&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764284328761","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6156818"},{"teacherId":10159574,"projectId":9548347,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our Library project. Providing hands on experiences to practice crucial math skills helps keep the children's interest in learning. Learning to count requires repetition. The variety of counters gives children choice in how they will practice. We are excited to use these materials all year for math. \r\nWe have set up many opportunities for children to learn foundational math skills. They are always excited to use the cars, animals, bears, etc. I know this will help them build a solid foundation for math. They were used immediately indoors and outdoors. They were so popular that children signed up to make sure they had a turn to use the materials. The building bricks were so popular we had to make a sign up sheet to use them. The children were able to build a variety of structures. They were able to collaborate with their peers and use the new vocabulary words. \r\nWe also used the scent materials. These were also very popular. This gave the children a first-hand experience with the scent of smell.
