By incorporating these ukuleles into the music curriculum, my students will learn to express their musical skills through this amazing instrument. My fourth and fifth graders will develop better music reading skills by learning various chord progressions, rhythms, and sight-reading skills. I hope by adding these ukuleles into my curriculum, that students who tend to shy away from singing, will be less nervous and will be more inspired to sing with this instrument. Many of the students who I teach come from various backgrounds, some of which can't afford private music lessons. This will give them a chance to learn a new skill.
