The books and materials I am requesting are going to be utilized to promote diverse readership and cultivating an interest in awareness for equal representation of authors in my classroom library. I'm hoping to update my classroom library to offer my diverse student base a chance to read novels by amazing authors that they can relate to on a personal level. Right now, our school does not have a true library, so my classroom options are the best way to get books into the hands of my students. The donations provided will open the opportunities for my students to read diverse novels influenced by many cultures and backgrounds. By implementing reading outside of class through a wide representation of authors and analyzing their works through annotation, my students will be better prepared for college rigor, but also build empathy for other people from different backgrounds in the world. Thank you so much for helping me in my attempt to diversify my library, but also bring my students the chance to understand the world around them. We appreciate all of your help so very much.
