When looking at the data on my class, I noticed that I need to improve in the category of nonfiction texts. I noticed my classroom library is low in the category also. I would like to provide more books for my classroom to be able to read nonfiction books for pleasure. This project would help bring more books in my class covering science topics as well as helping to improve our reading scores on nonfiction texts. I like to start a new science topic using a book as a jumping in point for my class. I found a resource that showed science books that go with our TEKS. I would love to have those books in my classroom so I can read it and I would like the books available for students to read on their own and get excited about science. I love that many of the titles show women and minorities involved in science.
