The books that I am requesting will allow my students to read more diverse books. These characters may be more relatable to them than in other books that are currently in my library. I want all of my students to find books that they can relate to and advance their love of reading. It is essential for them to be able to relate to characters and know they can overcome what may seem impossible. I am hopeful that these books will help turn all of my students into lifelong readers. I am also requesting two pillows and a rug to make my library more inviting and comfortable for them. The pillows will allow them to have some student choice. They can pick their own spots to read and enjoy our new, diverse classroom library.
