I am a first year teacher working for a school district that is experiencing millions of dollars worth of budget cuts and an emergency teacher shortage. Despite our shortage, our state fails to provide teachers with the wages they need to live in a city with an ever-raising cost of living. I teach first grade in Las Vegas, and by the end of first grade, my students must know how to read to succeed! Because teachers are expected to stock their own classroom out of their own pockets, I need help building my classroom library so that my eager learners can get their hands on quality books that they are interested in. Please help to fund the future and provide my students with the materials they need to bolster their learning!
