My students spend more of their waking hours at school than they do anywhere else. Drab walls, fluorescent lights, and impersonal spaces don't make the best learning environment, and I would love to transform my classroom so that my students feel safe, valued, comfortable, and at home in my classroom. Lamps will make our space much more inviting while providing comfortable light for my students to engage in the close reading necessary in a social studies classroom. My students need to see themselves in our classroom so that they feel at home in the learning environment. As such I would like to purchase some collaborative poster templates and other projects from Teachers Pay Teachers so we can celebrate the accomplishments of women, Black Americans, LGBTQ+ leaders, and more. Finally, as we are all anxious about being back to school during a pandemic I would like to ease my students' anxiety by making sure that my classroom is clean and sanitized. To this end, I would like to purchase additional disinfecting wipes and sanitizing supplies to keep my students safe.
