Within our first grade classroom we have tables instead of desk. The tables work great for collaboration among students and pairing partners, but they provide no storage space for the students pencil boxes, books and folders. Rather than having student supplies and material within reach, we have to store things at the back of the room and other various places in the classroom. We are having to take time out of the lesson for students to go get their materials or for someone to pass them out. This leads to things not getting completely done. The chair pockets would give each student a secure place to store their things and would save time when transitioning. The chair pockets will also grant students the availability to have their supplies and materials in reach. These supplies would provide me with the structure needed to guide them into the character trait of responsibility and organization so that they can achieve the highest measure of success.
