Currently we use a well loved rug that has been passed down from classroom to classroom. My students deserve a clean and comfortable rug, free of tears and stains. This rug will allow students to meet and conduct activities on the carpet, while feeling comfortable in their environment. Every Monday my students and I hold a morning meeting where we gather in a circle around our desks and talk about our feelings. With a new rug, we can gather around the carpet instead and have an in-depth conversation as we navigate through a lesson on social-emotional learning. With your donation, this rug will mean a lot to my second graders!
