As an ELA teacher, it is imperative that students feel welcome and comfortable in my room. My room, though inviting through decorations, is not the most comfortable place to work. Research shows that student choice in the classroom is a leading factor in student success. By adding flexible seating to my room I'll add another layer in which students can choose for themselves how their education works. I want to create a space that students feel welcome and at home. With the use of the materials from this campaign, I will create spaces in my room for students to better collaborate, as well as areas where they can focus on their work when they need individual time. Lessons will take place at traditional desks, then when students are ready for work time, whether it be small group, partner work, or individual, they will be dismissed to seating of their choice. Thank you so much for considering donating so that my students can have the best classroom possible for their learning!
