This year, like all schools in the United States, our school community has been greatly affected by the ongoing pandemic. As a result of social distancing protocols, our school has turned off our buildings water fountains. This means that students do not have access to water throughout the day unless they bring it from home. To support this need for hydration throughout the day, and to teach our students responsibility for their own things and well-being, we are hoping to raise enough money to be able to give each student a high quality reusable water bottle, and to have gallons of water to refill those bottles throughout the day if needed. This will also help our students understand the importance of sustainability and how reusable water bottles can benefit the world around them. These bottles will also benefit many of our students who have speech and language needs because of their straws; these will help to strengthen the muscles of the mouth.
