I was eager to provide several hands on activities for my classes this year. The bottom line is that I would like to focus on creativity and foster relationship building this school year. Studies show that when a teacher has a strong relationship with their students that the students end up doing better in their classes. This can be tied to the idea that showing the students you care about their hobbies and personal lives, it inspires them to care about your content. I aim to utilize the materials on my list to help build creativity and foster stronger relationships with my students. The art supplies will be used with all my Marketing classes to design a window display for our Business and Marketing (BAM) Department. Students will have the opportunity to work together in a group, meet new people, and be creative. This will help us use the skills learned in class to make a real marketing piece for WJHS students and hopefully recruit students who don't have a place, to join BAM. The CD and CD player will help those students in my Finance classes who struggle to read or are involved in ESL. Students will still be able to learn the content presented in class. Please help me as I create an inclusive and fun environment for students to create and learn in my class.
