As a high school counselor, I facilitate individual, group and classroom discussions with our students on the importance to have healthy strategies to use regularly to manage times when they feel stressed. Besides stress related to negative circumstances, we discuss that there are positive events in our life that make us stressed like; freshmen get acclimated to a new school, juniors gearing up for college entrance testing such as the ACT exam and seniors preparing their post-secondary plan. These stress balls will be an item I can place in many of our students' hands to practice experiencing the release of stress during our lessons. I was given a stress ball that I keep on my desk. My students love having it in their hands when they come check in. I know they will really enjoy and appreciate having one of their own!
