I feel that students learn better when they have options or choices, not all students learn the same. Giving my students the opoortunity or choice to work on the floor with a desk, sitting at a normal desk or standing at their desk will give my special ed students more flexibility in their learning style. I teach 6th-8the grade RSP Modified Math in a small community where I have the opportunity to work with my students over their 3 years of middle school. I get to know my students and their families on a personal basis which makes it nice year after year to teach them and know what they have already learned and what they are and are not capable of doing. I have really high expectations for my special ed students and treat them in a respectful manner. I love my job and can not imagine myself doing anything else. Having the choice of how each student wants to learn I feel will impact them as student learners by giving them more choices to meet their individual learning style.
