This project will give me a better variety of books in my classroom library. This is my first year to teach second grade so I do not have very many chapter books for my students to borrow. What I do have are cast offs and hand me downs with faded covers and torn out pages. Many of the children in my classroom do not have books in their homes. We only go to our school library twice a week so this often leaves my students with nothing to read at home. These books will be placed in my classroom library for student use. My students will be allowed to take them home so they always have a book to read. It is my hope that these books will spark a love for reading in my students. Building a love for literacy is my main goal as a teacher. If you can read you can achieve!
