In our reading curriculum we have gone over life cycles and the way animals and people change as they grow. One subject we talked about was the life cycle of a butterfly. My students were captivated by this and interested in how butterflies really changed. We have referenced this through the year and students have requested more butterfly books in my classroom library to practice their reading skills. I would love to wrap up our year with an investigative project to review the life cycle of a butterfly through the lakeshore kit, the butterfly garden and live specimens, and a book for students to take home and practice their reading skills. I know my students would be thrilled to observe this process, read more about it and practice writing about it.
