Math and science instruction in my classroom includes many different types of lessons and activities. Many of our lessons begin with a whole group discussion, and a classroom rug would create a great meeting spot for the class to share their ideas. When students collaborate on problem-solving or science activities, they work in groups around the room. Flexible seating in the room would allow for more productive groups, giving students the options to meet on the rug, grouped around a table on stools, or sitting comfortably in the saucer chairs. My students will also love the opportunity to sit in the saucer chair for the day as a special privilege!
