My days as a school nurse are filled with a lot of behind the scenes work, ensuring students are medically and emotionally safe and equipped to attend school. This work includes monitoring new and pre-existing Life Threatening Conditions, providing first-aid, and caring for things as little as simple as a runny nose. I also provide health education and resources to students, families and staff, and make sure they have the health and educational accommodations in place that they need to succeed at school when their diagnoses impede on their education. All of these daily tasks allows me to help them hold their heads up high as they navigate this scary, often unpredictable world.

About my class
