Everyday my assistant and I read with my students individually. Each child reads a book and takes it home to read with their family. After a few days they return the book and choose a new one advancing in difficulty as the year progresses. My students love having this one on one time with myself and my assistant and they enjoy being able to take these books home. It gives them a reason to have one on one attention at home as well. These books will give my students a much larger variety in books to choose from. Variety is huge because it gives these kids the chance to find books on their interest thus fostering a love of reading!!
