My goal is to have enough books that each student can choose 1 or 2 to keep with them, and then read during our designated Reading time either in class or remotely. Since students cannot share materials this year, I cannot run my reading program without enough physical books for students to have. Students deserve to have the same reading opportunities as years past, and not have to sacrifice enjoyable activities like reading a book. This project will allow them to learn to enjoy reading in Spanish. They enjoy the quiet time in class when all are reading, and love that they can read at their own pace with no expectations of a grade or assignment.
