Good books make life better! "The Red Pyramid" is an excellent novel written by Rick Riordan, that makes Ancient Egypt come to life. Ancient Egypt is part of our Social Studies Core Curriculum and this book will make our unit much more interesting. Shared Reading comes alive when each student has their own book and is engaged with the text. This is why I asked for a class set of this book. It's well written and I think it will motivate the kids to finish the series on their own. I love inspiring my kids to read independently. My students love Rick Riordan books, most of them have read his first series about the Greek Gods. I'm hoping to by a set of "The Lighting Thief" for my next year students.
